چکیده

Food production in Nigeria has not matched with the rate of population growth leading to reduction national food independence and self-reliance. As a result, is facing serious insecurity. Therefore, this research examined impacts climate change on security Nigeria. Annual time-series (proxy index), annual rainfall, temperature, rate, urban agricultural land used from 1980 2019 were used. The Augmented Dickey-Fuller (ADF) unit root test, Vector Autoregressive (VAR) model, Johansen Cointegration test Error Correlation Models (VECM) analyze data. ADF result shows that all variables completely stationary at first different orders I(1) both intercept trend level significance 1%. Three (3) lags conclusively selects as optimum lag VAR model. estimation indicates cointegration an existence long-run relationship among study. VECM temperatures, negatively significantly related various levels (1%, 5% 10%). At adversely coefficient multiple determinations (R2) about 91%, adjusted R2 0.86 was obtained Durbin-Watson 2.1 which implies tools good fit estimates Decomposition variance dwindling security. therefore recommends public enlightenment campaign birth control; appropriate adaptation methods should be adopted enhance others.

The Impacts of Population Change and Economic Growth on Carbon Emissions in Nigeria

T he main aim of this study is to investigate the impacts of population total, gross domestic product per capita, urbanization rate and energy use on carbon emissions in Nigeria for a period of 1981-2015 using autoregressive distributed lag approach to co-integration (ARDL). The empirical results revealed evidence of a long run relationship among the variables. The generalized ridge ...

Climate Change and Food Security: Health Impacts in Developed Countries

BACKGROUND Anthropogenic climate change will affect global food production, with uncertain consequences for human health in developed countries. OBJECTIVES We investigated the potential impact of climate change on food security (nutrition and food safety) and the implications for human health in developed countries. METHODS Expert input and structured literature searches were conducted and ...

Climate Change and Global Food Systems: Potential Impacts on Food Security and Undernutrition.

Great progress has been made in addressing global undernutrition over the past several decades, in part because of large increases in food production from agricultural expansion and intensification. Food systems, however, face continued increases in demand and growing environmental pressures. Most prominently, human-caused climate change will influence the quality and quantity of food we produc...

Climate change and food security.

Dynamic interactions between and within the biogeophysical and human environments lead to the production, processing, distribution, preparation and consumption of food, resulting in food systems that underpin food security. Food systems encompass food availability (production, distribution and exchange), food access (affordability, allocation and preference) and food utilization (nutritional an...
